Oklahoma City Barons News Release
Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City Barons, American Hockey League affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers, released a list of opponents the club will play during the 2010-11 hockey season today.
As expected, Oklahoma City will play a substantial portion of its games against its closest opponents. The Barons will play 10 games each against the Texas Stars, Houston Aeros and San Antonio Rampage. Oklahoma City will play 13 of the 14 other teams in the Western Conference during the season, but will not play any teams from the Eastern Conference. (see breakdown of opponents below)
The AHL provides each team with a balanced schedule meaning for each game Oklahoma City hosts an opponent, the Barons will travel to that city. The Barons will play the Chicago Wolves and Peoria Rivermen eight times each, while playing the Rockford IceHogs, Lake Erie Monsters and Milwaukee Admirals six times each. A complete schedule is expected to be released in August.

More than 85 percent of today's NHL players are American Hockey League graduates. The AHL is played in major North American cities such as Houston, San Antonio, Chicago, Austin, Cleveland, Milwaukee and Charlotte.
The puck drops on the Barons first season of play October 9 at the newly renovated Cox Convention Center. Season tickets are available for the 10-11 season by calling 232-GOAL (4625) or by visiting the Barons website at okcbarons.com.
