Canadiens Recall Nigel Dawes and Aaron Palushaj from Bulldogs

MONTREAL - The Montreal Canadiens announced today that forwards Nigel Dawes and Aaron Palushaj have been recalled from the Bulldogs to the Canadiens. The Hamilton Bulldogs also announced today that defenceman Sebastien Bisaillon has been recalled from the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL to the Bulldogs. He is scheduled to join the 'Dogs in time for tonight's game against the Rochester Americans.

Dawes, 26, played in nine games with the Atlanta Thrashers this season recording one assist. The native of Winnipeg, Manitoba currently leads the Bulldogs in scoring with 54 points (33 goals, 21 assists) in 55 games this season. He ranks first on the team and the AHL in goals with 33. The 5-foot-9, 200-pound left winger has played a total of 208 NHL regular season games registering 84 points (39 goals, 45 assists) and 43 penalty minutes. Dawes was drafted in the 5th round, 149th overall by the New York Rangers at the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He was acquired by the Canadiens along with Brent Sopel from Atlanta on February 24th in exchange for Ben Maxwell and a fourth round pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

Palushaj, 21, ranks third on the 'Dogs in points with 44 (17 goals, 27 assists) in 57 games this season. The 5-foot-11, 177-pound right winger is tied for first on the Bulldogs with a +15 rating while recording 134 shots and 30 penalty minutes. The native of Northville, Michigan was drafted in the 2nd round, 44th overall by the St. Louis Blues at the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Palushaj was acquired from the Blues on March 2, 2010, in return for Matt D'Agostini.

Bisaillon, 24, has played in 44 games with Wheeling this season recording 20 points (six goals, 14 assists) and 20 penalty minutes. The native of Mont-Laurier, Quebec spent last season with the Kassel Huskies in the DEL (German Ice Hockey League) where he posted nine points (two goals, seven assists) and 72 penalty minutes. The 6-foot, 185-pound defender has played a total of 52 career AHL games registering 22 points (eight goals, 14 assists) and 31 penalty minutes.

The Bulldogs begin a six-game road trip tonight when they travel to Rochester to battle the Americans will host the Abbotsford Heat for a game on Tuesday, February 8th at 7:00 p.m. at Copps Coliseum. All regular season Hamilton Bulldogs broadcasts on AM 820 CHAM will begin with a pre-game show 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
