Barons Recall Gimblett from Stockton; Sign Dusty Collins to PTO

The Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League recalled forward Jesse Gimblett from the Stockton Thunder and signed forward Dusty Collins to a PTO, Barons general manager Bill Scott officially announced today.

Gimblett, a 6-3, 215-pounder from Newtonville, Ontario attended Barons training camp prior to the start of the season. He was assigned to Stockton, the ECHL affiliate of the Oilers. He was recalled by the Barons December 9 and appeared in two games. With Stockton this season, Gimblett has 22 points (13-9-22) and has served 98 penalty minutes in 43 games played.

Collins, a 6-3, 210-pound native of Gilbert, Ariz. has played the majority of this season with the Ontario Reign of the ECHL. With Ontario, he scored 26 points (9-17-26) in 49 games. His rights were recently traded to the Florida Everblades of the ECHL where has appeared in one game. Collins has played 11 AHL games this season split between San Antonio, Manitoba and Toronto.

He does have experience at the AHL level, playing 144 games and scoring 19 points (14-5-9), while serving 175 penalty minutes. His most successful AHL campaign was the 2009-10 season with the Manitoba Moose where he played in 70 games, scoring four points (2-2-4) and serving 93 penalty minutes. His most successful campaign as a pro was his first when he scored 53 points (23-30-53) with the Arizona Sundogs of the Central Hockey League. He was originally a 5th round draft choice (163rd overall) of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Oklahoma City is in the midst of a nine-game, 14-day road trip. Tonight, they close out their season series with the Grand Rapids Griffins. Faceoff is 6 p.m. (CT). The game can be heard on the Barons flagship station, 96.1 KXY.
