Senators Re-Assign Andre Benoit and Jim O'Brien to Binghamton

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 16, 2011) - The Ottawa Senators today re-assigned defenceman Andre Benoit and forward Jim O'Brien to the club's American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators . Both players took part in Ottawa's 5-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins last night at Scotiabank Place.

Benoit, 27, has recorded no points and two penalty minutes in four NHL games this season. Benoit leads all B-Sens defencemen with 45 points on seven goals and 38 assists in 62 AHL games.

O'Brien, 22, has recorded no points and two penalty minutes in six NHL games this season. He has scored 18 goals while adding 26 assists and 61 penalty minutes in 60 games with the B-Sens.

The B-Sens, in fifth place in the AHL's East Division with a 34-25-3-4 record and 75 points, next see action tonight when they visit the Adirondack Phantoms at 7 p.m.
