Calgary Hitmen To Pick 22nd Overall In 2010 WHL Bantam Draft

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen will pick 22nd overall when the Western Hockey League holds its annual Bantam Draft on Thursday, April 29th. The draft will take place in Edmonton starting at 8:00 a.m. at Fantasyland Hotel.

HITMEN 2010 DRAFT SELECTION ORDER

Round 1 22nd overall selection

Round 2 44th overall selection.

Round 3 54th and 66th overall selections. 54th pick acquired in Ian Duval trade to Moose Jaw.

Round 4 88th overall selection

Round 5 110th overall selection

Round 6 None. Pick sent to Kamloops in Giffen Nyren trade

Round 7 None. Pick sent to Moose Jaw in Joel Broda / Tomas Karpov trade

Round 8 176th overall selection

Round 9 198th overall selection

Round 10 220th overall selection

Round 11 242nd overall selection

Round 12 264th overall selection

Round 13 286th overall selection

Round 14 308th overall selection

Round 15 330th overall selection

Players eligible for the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft will be 1995-born players who reside in Alberta, B.C., Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Northwest Territories, Yukon, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.

The bantam draft allows for the orderly transfer of players to WHL Protected Player Lists from the bantam ranks (14-15 year-olds).

Former Hitmen bantam picks include Cody Sylvester (2007), Matt MacKenzie (2006), Michael Stone (2005), Martin Jones (2005), Brett Sonne (2004), Ryan White (2003) and Ryan Getzlaf (2000).
