Moose Jaw, SK.--- Jason Bast is used to taking home the hardware. Bast has won numerous accolades over his five year Warrior Career. Among many awards, Bast was named Most Sportsmanlike player on the Warriors 09/10 team, but now Jason has been acknowledged as the most sportsmanlike player in the entire WHL.
Jason Bast was awarded the Brad Hornung Trophy during the 2009-2010 WHL Awards held in Edmonton. In Bast's 5 year WHL career, he only accumulated 118 PIM's. Known for being a class act on and off the ice, Bast can add one more accomplishment to his already stunning career in Moose Jaw.
Jason Bast broke records in numerous areas this season. Warriors Captain Jason won the Fans Choice Award, created four years ago, Bast is the only player to win this honor. Bast became the first player in team history to win MVP honors three times. Bast also set records on the ice, playing in 331 games in his five year career, moving him past Chris Twerdun (1995-00) and into first place all time on the Warriors games played list.
Warriors Captain Jason played in his 300th WHL game with the Warriors, and recorded his 100th career WHL game January 8th in Regina. Bast missed November 18th against Calgary due injury, which was the first game he'd missed since October 21st, 2006. Bast played in 228 consecutive games--- making him a true iron man.
The Warriors would like to congratulate Jason on this prestigious award and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
