Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen ran their home ice winning streak to eight games Friday night with a 3-2 shootout win over the Medicine Hat Tigers.
Hitmen goaltender Martin Jones turned in a first start performance making 23 saves through regulation, four in overtime plus three more stops in the shootout.
Kris Foucault scored the shootout winner for Calgary who extent their lead over the Tigers to nine points for first place in the WHL Central Division.
Tyler Fiddler with his team leading 12th goal of the season and Michael Stone with his 10th produced the Calgary goals in regulation.
Wacey Hamilton and Emerson Etem scored for Medicine Hat who outshot the Hitmen 29-28.
The Hitmen, now 18-6 on the season, will open a two game prairie road swing Wednesday night in Moose Jaw before heading to Brandon on Friday. Both games can be heard live on The Fan 960.
