Byrne Reassigned to IceCats

WORCESTER, MA – St. Louis Blues Senior Vice President/General Manager and Worcester IceCats General Manager of Hockey Operations Larry Pleau announced today that defenseman Trevor Byrne has been reassigned from the Peoria (IL) Rivermen of the ECHL to the Worcester IceCats.

Drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the fifth round of the 1999 NHL Draft, Byrne appeared in 25 games with the IceCats games this season before being reassigned to the Peoria Rivermen on December 27th. While with the ‘Cats ECHL affiliate, the Hingham, Massachusetts native recorded four goals, four assists, and a plus 13 rating in 10 games: 10(4/4/8)+13.

The former Dartmouth College captain has one goal and six assists for the IceCats this season. In 88 career games for the IceCats, Byrne has registered eight goals, 19 assists, 27 points and 34 penalty minutes.

The IceCats play in Manchester on Wednesday and then host the Hartford Wolf Pack on Friday, January 21st. The first 1,000 fans will receive Mike Mottau bobbleheads. DCU Center faceoff is slated for 7:05 PM.
