Bulls Skate Past Wranglers, 4-1, in Front of 8,321 Fans

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The San Francisco Bulls (12-17-1-3) defeated the Las Vegas Wranglers (12-12-1-3), 4-1, Friday night in front of 8,231 fans at the Cow Palace. Peter Sivak had a goal and an assist, and Thomas Heemskerk made 23 saves to secure the win for the Bulls. With the win the Bulls kept pace with the Utah Grizzlies in the Western Conference and tied the Wranglers with 28 points.

The Bulls took an early 1-0 lead at 2:32 of the first period. After some nice hand-eye coordination by Dean Ouellet he was able to control the puck and jam it past Mark Owuya. Joe Sova and Hans Benson tallied the assists on the goal. San Francisco doubled the lead to 2-0 with 5:31 remaining in the first period. Rob Kwiet's perfect slap shot beat Owuya over the blocker. Kwiet's fifth goal of the season was assisted by Sivak.

The Bulls extended their lead to 3-0 with 7:07 remaining in the second period. Alex Tuckerman fired a shot from the top of the face-off circle that was able to find a way past Owuya. Tuckerman's fourth goal of the season was assisted by Mikael Tam and Kris Belan. The Bulls then made the score 4-0 with 5:55 remaining courtesy of some beautiful passing to Sivak who scored for the 11th time this season. Sivak's goal was assisted by Jordan Morrison.

The Wranglers got on the board at 4:55 of the third period to bring the Bulls lead to 4-1. Judd Blackwater scored his eighth goal of the season. Nolan Julseth-White and Josh Lunden picked up the assists on the goal.

The Bulls return to action on Wednesday at 7:15 to take on the Colorado Eagles. It's get a pair Wednesdays at the Cow Palace. Fans can get two for one hot dogs. On Friday, the Bulls take on the Eagles for Country Western Night at the Cow Palace. The first 1,000 fans, 18 and over, receive a Bulls foam cowboy hat, courtesy of the SF Examiner.
