THIS DAY IN INTERNATIONAL LEAGUE HISTORY
2004 - With a 10-1 victory at Syracuse, Bill Evers wins his 500th game as manager of the Durham Bulls. Jorge Cantu leads the way for the Bulls, going 3-5 with a grand slam. Hired in 1998 to guide Durham in its first season as a Triple-A franchise, Evers is still going strong in 2004 as he achieves the personal milestone. Evers would manage Durham through the 2005 season, ultimately winning 613 games in a Bulls uniform before being promoted to Tampa Bay to serve as a bench coach.
