Bullfrogs Doubled up by La Crosse Loggers 6-3
July 1, 2012 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Green Bay Rockers News Release
The Bullfrogs fell victim of a balanced LaCrosse attack on Sunday night, and Green Bay lost its second consecutive game by a score of 6-3 to the Loggers.
LaCrosse scored two runs in each of the first three frames. Joe Meggs and Tyler Kuresa each scored in the bottom of the first on a Richard Prigatano single and a Brandon Bednar single, respectively.
Green Bay got one back in the top of the second when Jason McMurray drove home Brooks Orton with an RBI double to cut the Loggers' lead to 2-1.
Tyler Servais led off the bottom half of the second inning with a solo home run to left for the Loggers to make the score 3-1. Steven Pallares later scored from second on a Duncan McAlpine error to give LaCrosse a 4-1 lead.
The Loggers tacked on two more in the bottom of the third. Singles by Meggs and Kuresa plated Pallares and Meggs to make the LaCrosse advantage 6-1. LaCrosse had five different players each with one RBI.
All of this damage came with Ben Graff on the mound. He gave up five earned runs in four innings of work and took the loss for the Bullfrogs.
Green Bay added two more runs late via two solo home runs off the bats of second-year Bullfrogs. Duncan McAlpine went deep in the seventh and Billy Moon hit a solo shot in the eighth.
DJ Slaton pitched three scoreless innings in relief for the Bullfrogs, and Mac Acker added a scoreless eighth.
The Bullfrogs are now three games back of LaCrosse with three games to play in the first half of the season.
