The Hamilton Bulldogs continue to lead the American Hockey League with 79 points on the season. In 51 games, the most played by any AHL team, the Bulldogs have earned an impressive record of 36 wins, 8 losses, 4 ties and 3 overtime losses. Hamilton will look to improve upon that record as they host the Manitoba Moose for a weekend series with games on Friday, January 31st at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, February 1st at 7:00 p.m.

WARD BECOMES BULLDOGS HEAD COACH:

The Edmonton Oilers, a parent club of the Hamilton Bulldogs, have appointed Geoff Ward as head coach of the Hamilton Bulldogs for the balance of the 2002-03 season. The announcement comes 10 days following the appointment of Ward as interim head coach, after Claude Julien was hired as head coach of the Montreal Canadiens.

AUDETTE COMES TO HAMILTON:

The Montreal Canadiens, a parent club of the Hamilton Bulldogs, have assigned forward Donald Audette to Hamilton of the American Hockey League. Audette, a native of 33-year-old native of Laval, Quebec brings 666 games of NHL experience to the Bulldogs. Over his 13 year NHL career, the 5'8, 190 pound right-winger has scored 243 goals and 234 assists for 477 points, along with 539 penalty minutes. This season Audette had skated in 36 games for the Canadiens earning 3g-9a-12pts. Audette won the Dudley "Red" Garrett Award as the AHL's top rookie in 1989-90 while with the Rochester Americans.

BULLDOGS' RYDER FLYING HIGH:

Hamilton forward Michael Ryder is currently on a ten-game point streak in which he has scored 9 goals, 7 assists and 16 points. Ryder leads the Bulldogs in scoring during the month of January with 10g-7a-17pts in 12 games played.

HUNTER RE-ASSIGNED TO COLUMBUS:

The Hamilton Bulldogs have assigned forward J.J. Hunter to the Columbus Cottonmouths of the East Coast Hockey League. Hunter, 22, was recalled by the Bulldogs on Friday, January 24th and played that same night in Manitoba, while going scoreless.

The Hamilton Bulldogs have announced as promised the opportunity for fans to weigh in on the name of Hamilton's professional AHL team. 'You Make The Call' also will allow fans the opportunity to choose the colour scheme their team will wear. Fans are encouraged to visit any Hamilton Tim Hortons franchise to fill in a ballot choosing one of the three names: 'Bulldogs', 'Canadiens', or 'Habs'; as well as the colour scheme that the team will wear: 'Blue, White, Red and Bronze' (current) or 'Red, White & Blue' (Montreal Canadiens). Fans will also have an opportunity to win two tickets to a select Bulldogs' game in weekly draws by just entering their ballot at Tim Hortons locations throughout the greater Hamilton area.

BULLDOGS ON 820 CHAM!

Hamilton Bulldogs fans can listen to all the Bulldogs home and road action this season on Hamilton's 820 CHAM-AM. Derek Wills provides all the play-by-play, while Hamilton radio personality Al Craig is the colour commentator for all home games and select road games.
