Payette released from PTO

The Manitoba Moose announced that they have released left winger Andre Payette (PAY-ehteh) from his pro tryout contract.

Payette, 26, had played eight games with the Moose since he signed his pro tryout contract on Dec. 30/02. The rugged winger registered 67 penalty minutes with one shot. He set a season team-high of 29 penalty minutes in a single game on January 18 against Houston.

Payette will be rejoining the Toldeo Storm of the East Coast League where he began the 2002-03 season. He has played in three ECHL games with the Toldeo Storm this season and registered one goal and one assist with 36 penalty minutes.
