MILWAUKEE, WI - The Hamilton Bulldogs surrendered the game-winning goal with 10 seconds remaining in the third period, as forward Pat Leahy lifted the Milwaukee Admirals to a 3-2 win on Friday night at Bradley Center. With the loss, Hamilton's record drops to 35-22-2-4 on the season.
Cory Urquhart opened the scoring for the Bulldogs at 5:05 of the first period. Corey Locke and Duncan Milroy set-up Urquhart who finished off the passing play with his fourth goal of the season.
Hamilton took a 2-0 lead at 7:29 of the opening frame when Mathieu Biron notched his eighth goal of the campaign. Biron took a pass from Kyle Chipchura and beat a screened Admirals netminder Pekka Rinne with a wrist shot to the stick side.
With two goals in the second period, the Admirals tied the game 2-2. On the power play at the 15:13 mark, Chris Durno cut the 'Dogs lead in half at 2-1 with this 11th tally of the season. Brandon Segal then tied the game by posting his 16th goal of the campaign at 18:43 of the frame.
Milwaukee then pulled ahead 3-2 with only 10 seconds left in the final stanza when Leahy potted his ninth marker of the year. Cal O'Reilly earned the lone assist on the game's deciding goal.
Yann Danis suffered the loss for the Bulldogs despite making 26 saves on 29 shots. At the other end of the ice, Rinne turned aside 24 of 26 shots and picked up the win for the Admirals.
On the power play, Hamilton went 0-for-3 while Milwaukee scored once on two attempts.
The Bulldogs return to action tomorrow (Saturday, March 10th) at 7:00 p.m. when they travel to Toronto to take on the Marlies at Ricoh Coliseum.
