
Bulldogs battle back to beat Bears, 4-2

Hershey, PA - The Hamilton Bulldogs defeated the league leading Hershey Bears 4-2 on Wednesday night. The win was Hamilton's third straight victory as they swept their season series over the Bears.
The Bears opened the game's scoring at 3:29 of the first frame. Alexandre Giroux gained control of the puck in the Bulldogs' zone before deking past a few Hamilton players and firing a shot towards the net. Graham Mink batted the puck out of mid-air and past Hamilton starting goaltender Marc Denis.
The Bulldogs tied the game 1-1 at 4:16 of the opening stanza. Brock Trotter fed a pass to David Desharnais who skated towards the net before snapping a shot over the shoulder of Hershey starting goaltender Daren Machesney.
Kyle Wilson regained the leader for Hershey at 15:06 of the first period. Quintin Laing sent a pass to Wilson who waited patiently before firing a shot past Denis to give the Bears a 2-1 lead heading into the second period.
At 4:42 of the middle frame, Yanick Lehoux scored to tie the game 2-2. Brock Trotter fed a pass through traffic and directly onto the stick of Lehoux. Lehoux tapped the puck past Machesney for the goal. Ryan Kinasewich earned an assist on the marker, his first point in his first game as a Bulldog. Hamilton earned its first lead of the game at 18:02. Ryan Russell rifled a shot that rung off the crossbar. Kyle Chipchura was stationed right in front of the net, allowing him to bang the loose rebound into the back of the net.
Hamilton increased their lead to 4-2 while on the power play at 9:15 of the final frame. Machesney was bumped out of position by one of his own defenders after stopping a Ben Maxwell shot. The puck was bouncing in front of the net before Ryan White batted the puck past a down Machesney.
The Bulldogs continue their five-game road trip on Friday, February 13th when they travel to Norfolk to battle the Admirals at 7:15 p.m. Fans can listen to every âDogs game on the flagship station of the Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Network, TALK 820.
