Rockford IceHogs News Release

Peoria, Ill.- A 5-2-0-0 record sounds a whole lot better than a 4-3-0-0 record. That is the difference between a Rockford IceHogs win and a loss tonight when the American Hockey League club travels to Peoria to take on the Rivermen at 7 p.m. at Carver Arena.

The game marks the end of the IceHogs season-long seven-game road swing and entering play tonight Rockford is 4-2-0-0 on the stretch. Rockford, however, has dropped the past two games by 4-1 margins in Milwaukee and Iowa.

Rockford and Peoria have met five times already this season and the Hogs have a record of 2-2-0-1 against their West Division rivals, but haven't played since Nov. 29 at the Rockford MetroCentre. The two teams will face-off ten times overall in 2008-09.

Six points separates the second place IceHogs and sixth place Rivermen in the West Division standings. Tonight's game could feature the Rivermen debut for goaltender Manny Legacy, sent to Peoria by the St. Louis Blues earlier in the week.

To listen to tonight's game, tune into 1330 AM, WNTA, 1380 AM, WTJK or on-line at www.icehogs.com. The game can be viewed on the Web through the AHL Live for just $7 on www.icehogs.com or at SportsPage in Rockford located on Broadway just off of Alpine Rd.

Next Home Game: Friday, Feb. 13 vs. Peoria Rivermen. Rockford returns home at 7:30 p.m. The IceHogs come home after a 19 day hiatus to take on the Rivermen. The first 1,500 kids to the game 14-and-under will receive an IceHogs Youth Jersey courtesy of Feldco Windows and Doors, FOX 39 and 104.9 FM, WXRX.

Kids can enter to win four (4) tickets in the Press Box Suite for the Feb. 13 IceHogs game against Peoria inside Feldco at 747 South Perryville Road in Rockford. The winner and three friends will receive VIP treatment for the night and will get a visit from an IceHogs player during the game.
