Two goals in the final two-minutes of the game pushed the Manitoba Moose over the Hartford Wolf Pack 4-2 on Wednesday night at the XL Centre. Michael Grabner netted two, Nolan Baumgartner and Guillaume Desbiens earned singles while Jason Krog recorded three assists in front of 2127 spectators. The Moose currently sit in first place in both the North Division and Western Conference and regained top spot in the AHL with 76 points.

It only took the Wolf Pack 54 seconds to net the opening goal, when Tommy Pyatt pried the puck away from Cory Schneider's grasp to earn the first lead of the game on their third shot.

Manitoba's powerplay unit made their debut 1:23 into the second period when Corey Potter was called out for hooking. Even though the Moose were able to catch up to Hartford in the shot department, they failed to break Miika Wiikman and play resumed to five-on-five.

Even strength hockey paid off for the visiting Moose at 5:14. In a tic-tac-toe style play, Jason Jaffray passed the puck to Jason Krog who chipped it over to Michael Grabner who snapped the puck over Wiikman to knot the score at one.

The home team regained their lead when Tommy Pyatt netted his second of the night, again with help from Patrick Rissmiller, to sit on top of the Moose 2-1.

Moments later, veteran defenseman Nolan Baumgartner soared down the left side of the ice and scooped the puck into the net to tie the game at two.

45 seconds into the final frame Josh Soares was penalized for tripping, putting the Moose on the penalty kill for the first time of the night. Bringing their shot count to 21, Hartford put extra pressure on the visitors, but couldn't earn the go-ahead goal on the man-advantage.

Devin DiDiomete's five-minute major for interference put the Moose on the powerplay for the final five minutes of the contest. With 1:36 left in the third, Michael Grabner fired a wrist shot that sailed over Wiikman to put the Moose on top, 3-2.

With 54 seconds remaining, Guillaume Desbiens netted a backhanded goal, his third goal in as many nights, to confirm the win for the Moose, 4-2.
