Buffalo Sabres Recall Ruhwedel from Amerks

(Rochester, NY)... The Buffalo Sabres today announced that the team has recalled defenseman Chad Ruhwedel from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League (AHL) on an emergency basis.

Ruhwedel (5/7/90, 5'11", 181 lbs) joins the Sabres for the second time this season after being called up on Jan. 24 for a seven-game stint. Currently the Amerks' highest-scoring defenseman, Ruhwedel has registered 25 points (4+21) in 45 AHL games in 2013-14. Now in his second season in the Sabres organization, Ruhwedel has played in 14 NHL games after signing with the club as an undrafted free agent in April 2013.
