Arcobello Extends Point Streak in Barons 2-1 Win
March 8, 2014 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Oklahoma City Barons News Release
Mark Arcobello extended his point streak to a franchise record 11 games with a pair of goals as the Oklahoma City Barons knocked off the Hamilton Bulldogs 2-1 Friday night at the FirstOntario Centre in Hamilton, Ontario.
Arcobello's first goal came at the 10:05 mark of the first period, with the Bulldogs leading 1-0 after a goal from Nathan Beaulieu at 6:05. After Beaulieu sent a backhanded pass that kicked off the stick of Hamilton's Gabriel Dumont, Arcobello shoveled the puck over the glove of Bulldogs goalie and former Edmonton Oiler Devan Dubnyk to tie the game at one.
Following a hooking penalty to Hamilton's Maxime Macenauer at 6:20 of the second period, Arcobello notched the eventual game winner, blasting a one timer from the left circle off an Anton Lander cross-ice pass to give the Barons a 2-1 lead at 6:49.
Oklahoma City goalie Richard Bachman stopped 23 of 24 shots, including two Hamilton breakaway opportunities in the second period.
Arcobello's streak of 11 games with at least a point passed the 10-game marks set by former record co-holders Justin Schultz (2012), Josh Green (2012) and Alex Giroux (2011).
Arcobello has tallied 22 points in 11 games since returning to Oklahoma City Feb. 2.
The Barons' next game is 4 p.m. Sunday, when they travel to Rochester, N.Y. to take on the Americans. Oklahoma City returns home Tuesday to take on the San Antonio Rampage at 7 p.m. at the Cox Convention Center.
