
Pirates Battle Sharks in Worcester

Worcester, MA-The Pirates will look to bounce back from a shootout loss Friday night as they take on the Sharks Saturday in Worcester Puck drop is set for 7 pm in the tenth meeting between the two teams this season, with Worcester holding a 5-4 season advantage.
The Pirates fell 4-3 to the Albany Devils in a shootout Friday night after fighting back from a two-goal deficit. Jordan Martinook, Brendan Shinnimin and Tobias Rieder scored for the Pirates while Mark Visentin stopped 33 shots in the loss. With his shorthanded goal Friday, Shinnimin has now scored five goals in his last four games, giving him 12 on the season.
The Sharks won in their shootout Friday night, taking down the Providence Bruins 5-4 in Providence. Freddie Hamilton, Yanni Gourde, Marek Viedensky and Danill Tarasov all tallied for the Sharks while Troy Grosenick stopped 19 shots and all four he faced in the shootout to win the game.
The Sharks and Pirates last met on Feb. 27 with the Pirates winning 6-4. Shinnimin and Rieder each scored twice in the game while Brett Hextall and Andy Mile also scored while Mark Visentin made 29 saves to earn the victory.

Play as 5: The Pirates played a solid game last night but were unable to get the win. As the new Pirates get used to the system and line combinations are figured out, the synergy between players on the ice will improve. Look for new combinations and lines tonight as the Pirates adjust to new personnel.
