
P-Bruins Fall to Monarchs 4-2

Manchester, NH - The Providence Bruins fell to the Manchester Monarchs 4-2 Saturday afternoon. Alexander Khokhlachev and Justin Florek scored for the P-Bruins, while Niklas Svedberg made 30 saves.
After a defensive struggle for most of the first period, the P-Bruins struck first at the 18:33 mark. Blake Parlett shot the puck from the blue line as Khokhlachev picked up the loose puck to score his 17th goal of the season. Seth Griffith had the second assist on the goal as Providence led 1-0 going into the first intermission.
The Monarchs tied the game at one at the 3:18 mark of the second period as Nick Shore scored his 13th goal of the season as his wrist shot beat Svedberg blocker side. Andrew Campbell and Zach O'Brien recorded the assists. Manchester took the lead as Andy Andreoff scored his ninth goal of the season at the 5:58 mark. He skated from the left wing to the slot and beat Svedberg under the blocker. Linden Vey and Scott Sabourin grabbed the assists. The Monarchs added to their lead at the 14:46 mark when James Livingston scored his fifth goal of the season. It came on the rebound attempt off a Steve Quailer shot. Colin Fraser picked up the second assist on the play as Manchester led 3-1 going into the second intermission.
The P-Bruins cut the lead to 3-2 as Florek scored his 15th goal of the season at the 15:42 mark, when he tipped in a Craig Cunningham shot. Khokhlachev had the second assist on the play. Manchester finished the scoring at the 17:12 mark. Livingston scored his second goal of the game and sixth goal of the season on a breakaway, unassisted.
Svedberg stopped 30 of 34 shots for the P-Bruins, while Jean-Francois Berube made 34 saves for the Monarchs. Providence went 1-for-3 on the power play and 3-for-3 on the penalty kill.
