Brueggemann Shines as Aviators Win

LOVES PARK, IL- The Rockford Aviators (32-45) presented by Pearson scored four runs in the seventh inning to beat the Southern Illinois Miners (47-30), 6-2.

Kyle Brueggemann got the start for the Aviators. He pitched seven strong innings allowing five hits, and two runs while striking out two Miners. This is Brueggemann's first win since he beat the Miners in a 1-0 shut out back on July 6th.

After four scoreless innings, Dusty Robinson broke the scoreless tie when hit a two-run home run that gave the Aviators a 2-0 lead.

The Miners answered in the top of seventh inning. With two outs, the Miners put a few hits together and pushed two across to tie the game at 2-2.

The Aviators pulled away in the seventh. Ryan Breen started the inning with a lead off double. Brian Bistagne then put down a bunt, and Miners pitcher, Matt Bywater, had an errant throw that allowed Breen to score.

The Aviators strung together four straight hits and pushed across three more runs to give the Aviators a 6-2 lead.

The Aviators will conclude their series with the Miners tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. Aviators fans remember that Thursday night is Jax Pub $1 Beer Night.
