
Brazdeikis Puts up 29 Points in Knicks Loss to Maine

WHITE PLAINS, NY - January 25, 2020 - Ignas Brazdeikis put up 29 points in a valiant effort by the Westchester Knicks, the official NBA G League affiliate of the New York Knicks, but it came in a 110-103 loss to the Maine Red Claws, Saturday evening at Westchester County Center.
Maine (20-7) went up by as many as 18 points through the first three quarters and held a strong command through the early goings of the fourth.
JJ Moore, who registered 10 of his 12 points in the fourth quarter, drained a triple at the 9:16 mark to bring the Knicks (13-15) within single digits down, 92-83. Red Claws' Romeo Langford netted a finger roll on the ensuing possession to push the visitors back up 11 almost a minute later but following a trey by Tim Bond, the Knicks battled just single digit deficits for the next two minutes.
At 6:44, Moore drilled a go-ahead perimeter shot to cap off a 14-3 run, since falling behind 11, to gift the Knicks the slight one-point advantage, 95-94. On the break, Brazdeikis scored at the cup to move Westchester ahead three, 97-94, at 5:59. Tremont Waters, pulled up from behind the arc to knot things 14 seconds later, 97-up, for Maine.
One, two and three-point differentials told the story for the next three minutes until back-to-back Waters' makes promoted Maine by five, 108-103, at 1:45. A scoring drought hampered the Knicks as the hosts missed all four of their final attempts and Maine resolved a seven-point win.
Brazdeikis' game-high 29 points accompanied six rebounds and two assists and included four triples. Andrew White III scored 19 points and sank six three-pointers. Ivan Rabb notched a 12-point, 12-rebound double-double. Kadeem Allen dished a game-high eight assists.
Yante Maten led Maine with 23 points and nine boards. Waters added 21 points and six assists.
The Knicks host Raptors 905 on Monday, January 27 at 7 PM.
