SANTA CRUZ, CA - The Santa Cruz Warriors (15-12) fell to Wisconsin Herd (22-5), 116-106, Friday night at Kaiser Permanente Arena. The Herd, owners of the best record in the G League, improved to 13-1 on the road, while Santa Cruz fell to 2-7 at Kaiser Permanente Arena this season.

Jacob Evans III, on assignment from Golden State, played in his first Santa Cruz Warriors game of the season, scoring 19 points, five rebounds, three steals and two blocks in 33 minutes. Alen Smailagic, also on assignment from Golden State, tallied 13 points, nine rebounds, three steals and two blocks in 29 minutes. Golden State two-way guard Ky Bowman added seven points and five rebounds.

The Warriors finished the first half on a 16-4 run to take a 65-64 lead going into the locker room. Andrew Harrison came off the bench and added 13 points in the first half. The Herd shot 57 percent in the first half (24-42 FG) and were led by Adams' 11 points in the first 24 minutes.

Both teams battled back and forth in the third quarter, with Santa Cruz scoring the last five points of the period to trail Wisconsin 92-88 entering the fourth. The Warriors closed the gap to one point in the fourth quarter but never regained the lead, as Wisconsin held the Sea Dubs to just three points in the final three minutes.

Harrison finished the night with 17 points (three-for-six 3FG). Jeremy Pargo added 19 points (three-for-eight 3FG), while Ryan Taylor chipped in six points off the bench on two-for-two 3-point shooting.

The Warriors forced the Herd into 25 turnovers, one short of their season high (26 turnovers). Jaylen Adams led the Herd with 17 points and six assists. Leon Gilmore III and Shannon Bogues both added 15 points. as the Herd were without two-way and assignment players.

The Warriors continue their six-game homestand against the South Bay Lakers (10-18) on Sunday, January 26 at 5:00p.m. Fans can view Saturday's game on NBC Sports Bay Area or stream on the NBC Sports MyTeams App. The first 1,000 fans in the building will receive a Latinx Heritage Night rally towel.
