October 31, 2008 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (October 31)- In the second game in as many nights the Texas Brahmas were able to take two points from the Scorpions in a 5-2 victory Friday evening in New Mexico.
The Brahmas (4-1-1) had their own treat on Halloween night that came in the disguise as a shorthanded goal from Scott Sheppard to put Texas up 1-0 in the opening period. It was Texas' third shorthanded goal of the season.
New Mexico evened things up in the second, but the tie did not last for long as Texas scored three unanswered goals, two on the powerplay, on Scorpion's goaltender Jason Wolfe. Scorers for Texas were Craig Minard, Lance Galbraith and Matt Quinn.
Texas' offense finished things up in the final period with a Tyler Skworchinski powerplay goal at the 2:36 mark. Four Brahmas finished with two points for the night (Rouleau, Skworchinski, Sheppard and Minard).
Despite New Mexico outshooting the Brahmas 33-23, goaltender David Cacciola earned his first win of the season over his former team. Texas was three for four on the powerplay and killed all six New Mexico powerplay attempts.
