Colorado Tops First Yellowbook CHL Coaches Poll

October 31, 2008 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release


The Colorado Eagles, off to their best start in franchise history with an undefeated 7-0-0 record, have been rewarded in the early going of the 2008-09 season by being voted as the first #1 team in the Yellowbook CHL Coaches Poll. The Eagles collected 14 of 16 first place votes (teams are unable to vote for themselves) totaling 149 points. Two other teams received first place votes, the Odessa Jackalopes (#5) and the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (#4).

The poll is divided evenly with five teams from each conference represented. The Northern Conference has each of the top three teams in the rankings.

The CHL Top 10 Coaches Poll will be released on or near the beginning and middle of each month through the regular season. Each first place vote receives 10 points, second place earns nine points, etc.
