February 7, 2014 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Ottawa 67's News Release
Ryan Van Stralen scored twice and Erik Bradford had a goal and a four-point night as the Ottawa 67's got ahead early and went on to post a 7-2 win over the Sarnia Sting at Canadian Tire Centre Friday night in Ontario Hockey League action.
Travis Konecny and Dante Salituro both had a goal and two assists, while Jonathan Duchesne and Brendan Bell also scored for the 67's who led 4-0 after the opening period. They won their 18th game of the season and kept pace with Niagara IceDogs and Mississauga Steelheads for the final playoff position in the OHL's Eastern Conference.
Both Niagara and Mississauga won Friday night, so the 67's remain three points behind the IceDogs and six points back of the Steelheads for the last playoff spot. Ottawa has played one less game than Niagara, and three fewer than Mississauga.
Brandon Lindberg had a goal and assist for the Sting.
Philippe Trudeau made his seventh straight start for the 67's and stopped 35 shots for the victory.
The 67's have four straight road games; Saturday night in Barrie, Sunday in Barrie, Wednesday in Belleville and Friday in Oshawa before returning to Canadian Tire Centre on Feb. 17 for a Family Day matinee against the Owen Sound Attack.
