
Travelodge Canada Announces Winners of Fan Faceoff Contest

CALGARY, February 7, 2014 - Travelodge Canada is pleased to announce the names of the two grand prize winners of the Travelodge Canada Fan Faceoff contest. Each of our winners has won a trip for four people to the 2014 MasterCard Memorial Cup in London, Ontario (May 24 - 26, 2014).
The grand prize winners were chosen from two teams whose fans went undefeated during the 8 week run of the Travelodge Fan Faceoff contest which concluded January 26th - the Medicine Hat Tigers, and for the second year in a row the fans of the Sudbury Wolves.
Sharon Dutchak, from the WHL, was the winning fan from all entries received supporting the Medicine Hat Tigers and Bryan Connors-Jawenashi, from the OHL, was the lucky fans chosen from all of the entries supporting the Sudbury Wolves.
"The Ontario Hockey League's partnership with Travelodge has once again given fans an opportunity to showcase their passion through the Fan Faceoff Contest," said OHL Commissioner David Branch. "For the second straight year Sudbury has once again shown what a great hockey community they are with one of the most loyal and enthusiastic fan bases in the entire OHL."
"The fans of the Canadian Hockey League are truly passionate about their teams and their communities and we were pleased to see the level of engagement from fans across the country, particularly in some of the smaller markets such as Medicine Hat and Sudbury" said Patti Hunt Director, Marketing & Communications Travelodge Canada.
Fans were encouraged to declare their loyalty to their favorite team at the outset of the contest and vote daily during the 8 week round robin style contest. In addition to the grand prize, weekly prizes, Travelodge will host an event in Medicine Hat and Sudbury early in the 2014/15 CHL season to celebrate the winning fans of the contest in each league.
