Saginaw Spirit Prepare for Home Ice After Two Game Road Trip

The Saginaw Spirit visited the Niagara Icedogs Friday, February 7th at the Gatorade Garden City Complex with the home team taking the 4-2 victory.

The first period started fast as the Icedogs scored two goals within sixteen seconds of each other within the first 1:08. The first goal was scored off the stick of Aaron Haydon from Carter Verhaeghe and Blake Siebenaler. Sixteen seconds later, Graham Gnott scored a goal with assist from Eric Ming and Blake Siebenaler. After some good scoring opportunities for the Spirit, the Icedogs scored again through an effort by Eric Ming from Graham Gnott and Hayden McCool at 13:01.

The second period scoring was completed by the Saginaw Spirit. At 4:10 of the second Justin Sefton found the back of the net from Jesse Graham and Eric Locke. The remainder of the period went through a back and forward fight to the net.

In the third period the Saginaw Spirit closed the gap to one, when they scored a shorthanded goal at 7:36 through the efforts of Kristoff Kontos from Eric Locke. However, at 16:08 the Icedogs reinstated their two goal lead on a goal created by Vince Dunn from Anthony DiFruscia.
