Akron RubberDucks News Release
Bowie's Corban Joseph slugged a two-run homer, and Ademar Rifaela recorded a key outfield assist, as the Baysox notched a 6-5 win over the Akron RubberDucks Wednesday night at Canal Park in Akron, Ohio.
Turning Point
The RubberDucks (65-44) were trailing 6-4 when they rallied in the eighth inning against Bowie reliever Matt Grimes. With the bases loaded and one out, Alexis Pantoja grounded a base hit to Rifaela in left field. Ka'ai Tom crossed the plate to make it 6-5, but Rifaela fired a strike to catcher Martin Cervenka to cut down Mark Mathias at the plate and prevent the tying run from scoring. Grimes then struck out Tyler Krieger to end the threat and preserve the lead.

He served up a two-run homer to Corban Joseph in the first inning. When Paulson left after five, the Ducks trailed, 5-3. Lefty David Speer gave up an RBI double to Cervenka in the sixth to make it 6-3. Right-hander James Karinchak made his Double-A debut when he relieved Speer in the sixth. He worked one scoreless inning.
