The Altoona Curve defeated the Harrisburg Senators 1-0 in a rain shortened seven-inning game Wednesday night at FNB Field. Ke'Bryan Hayes, the second batter of the game, hit a solo home run to left to account for the only run of the game.

After Estevez retired the first hitter of the game Cole Tucker, Hayes hit a 2-1 pitch from the right-hander just over the left-center field fence to give Altoona the 1-0 edge.

Estevez (1-3) allowed just the one run on two hits while walking one over his four frames.

Curve starter Austin Coley (2-0) pitched five shutout innings despite allowing baserunners in four of the five innings, with the Senators best chance to score against him coming in the fourth. After Dan Gamache hit a one out double, Jake Noll singled to center but Gamache was thrown out at home plate by center fielder Bryan Reynolds.

The Senators had another chance to score in the sixth as they loaded the bases with two outs, however Austin Davidson lined out to left against Altoona reliever Brett Helton to end the threat.

Bryan Harper, Dakota Bacus and Derek Self combined to throw three shutout innings for the Senators to finish the game.

The Senators were retired in order in the seventh before the game went into a rain delay and was eventually called which gave Altoona the 1-0 win.

The Senators and Curve play the rubber match of their series Thursday night. Scooter Hightower takes the mound for Altoona while the Senators have not announced their starting pitcher. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at FNB Field. The game can be heard on CBS Sports Harrisburg 96.5 & 95.3 FM and 1400 AM or at www.cbssportsharrisburg.com beginning at 6:45 p.m.
