
Bowie Baysox Make Player Moves

BOWIE BAYSOX PLAYER MOVE
BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox announce a series of roster moves today. LHP Nick Bierbrodt and IF Carlos Rojas were transferred to class Triple-A Norfolk, RHP Pat Egan and OF Kyle Hudson were transferred to Bowie from class Triple-A Norfolk, IF Billy Rowell was placed on the Disabled List retroactive to June 26, and RHP Eddie Gamboa was activated from the Disabled List. With the moves, the Baysox have 24 active players on their 24-man roster.
Bierbrodt appeared in 13 games for the Baysox, going 1-0 with a 0.78 ERA over 23.0 innings. He held opponents scoreless in 10 of his appearances, including the last seven.
Rojas appeared in 53 games for Bowie, batting .213 (30-141) with five doubles and nine RBIs. He played second base, third base and shortstop for Bowie this season.
Egan appeared in 21 games for the Norfolk Tides this season, going 1-2 with a 5.12 ERA over 38.2 innings. He has walked 16 batters while striking out 22 this season.
Hudson played in 24 games for the Tides, batting .188 (13-69) with one double and four stolen bases. Hudson hit .268 (11-41) in 13 games with Bowie earlier this season.
Rowell hit .227 (27-119) in 41 games with Bowie this season with two doubles and 11 RBIs. This is his second trip to the disabled list this season. He is eligible to be activated Sunday, July 3.
Gamboa has been on the Disabled List since May 1. In five games for Bowie this season, Gamboa is 1-2 with a 4.22 ERA over 21.1 innings. The right-hander allowed 21 hits and two walks while striking out 18 batters.
