Bouknight Promoted to New Orleans
July 26, 2005 - Eastern League (EL1)
Harrisburg Senators News Release
The Harrisburg Senators announced today that right-handed pitcher Kip Bouknight has been promoted to New Orleans. As of this time, there has been no move made to replace Bouknight on the Senators roster so the active roster stands at 21 players with Henry Mateo still with the team on rehab from the Washington Nationals.
Bouknight was 4-4 with a 4.01ERA in 20 appearances including 13 starts this year with the Senators. He was signed by the Nationals this past off-season after having split time last season between the Colorado Rockies and Toronto Blue Jays organization. Bouknight has previously pitched in AAA with Colorado Springs and Syracuse last season.
The moves today will keep the Senators roster at 23 active players.
The Senators begin a homestand on Friday night with the Bowie Baysox. Friday's game gets underway 6:35pm and it starts a seven-game homestand that will see Bowie in town over the weekend followed the Binghamton Mets, making their first and only trip of the season to Commerce Bank Park next week.
