Curve's annual Bark in the Park set for tonight

July 26, 2005 - Eastern League (EL1)
Altoona Curve News Release

ALTOONA-- The "Dog Days of Summer" are upon us and what better way to celebrate than by bringing your best friend to the ballpark.

Indeed, the Altoona Curve will hold their fourth annual "Hank's Bark in the Park" promotion Tuesday night as the Curve takes on the Binghamton Mets (AA/New York Mets) at Blair County Ballpark.

As part of "Hank's Bark in the Park Night", fans will not only be invited to bring their dogs to the ballpark for the 7:05 p.m. game (gates open at 6:00), but will also be able to enjoy several dog-related events. Plus, the first 500 dogs will receive a FREE Curve Dog Dish!

Highlighting the events will be an appearance by the high-flying, frisbee-catching canine act Skyy Dog USA and Rockin' Ray, which will perform throughout the game.

Also, several door prizes will be available for dog owners to win, plus there will be a pre-game dog parade on the field for all dogs to participate in. Additionally, the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society will be on hand with several dogs that will be available for adoption. Also, representatives from local dog rescues, groomers and veterinary offices will have table displays on the first-level concourse.

Dogs will be allowed to roam the concourse areas of the ballpark as long as they are on a leash and accompanied by their owners. Fans wishing to sit down and watch the game with their four-legged friend can purchase tickets for the designated dog section, located in the UPMC Health Plan Home Run Junction seating area (outfield bleachers), or simply purchase a General Admission ticket and sit on the Reliance Bank in left-field.

As a courtesy to other fans, dogs will not be permitted in any reserved seating area of Blair County Ballpark, with the exception of the designated dog section in the UPMC Health Plan Home Run Junction seating area (outfield bleachers).

The Curve will remain at home through Thursday night as they take on the Binghamton Mets at Blair County Ballpark. Here's what happening at Blair County Ballpark this week!
