MEQUON, Wis. - The Green Bay Booyah defeated the Lakeshore Chinooks at Kapco Park on Tuesday by a final score of 8-0.
Mykel Page (Southern) was dominant in his second start of the season. He went eight innings and allowed just two hits while walking three and striking out three. He threw just 98 pitches in the contest. 61 of those 98 pitches were strikes and he threw 18 first pitch strikes to the 30 men he faced.
He got the run support early as the Booyah led after a half inning courtesy of a single by Max Wagner (Clemson) that scored Brendan Ryan (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi). In the third inning, the Booyah got more run support for Page after bringing nine men to the plate and scoring four runs. Green Bay would add two in the fifth and one in the sixth to bring their total to eight runs.
The Booyah bats were awake in Mequon again as they were able to rope 16 hits together in the win. Dalton Pearson (Georgia State) went 5-for-5.
Joseph Hettinger (Washington University in St. Louis) came in to relieve Page in the ninth and threw a 1-2-3 inning in just eight pitches.
With the win, the Booyah have now won four straight games and start the second half of the season at 1-0. Green Bay extends their season series lead over Lakeshore, 5-3.
The two teams will battle again on Wednesday at Kapco Park. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 pm.
The Green Bay Booyah will be back at Capital Credit Union Park on Thursday to take on the Kenosha Kingfish. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 pm. It will be "Sayonara to 2020 Night." It will also be Thirsty Thursday with Bud Light and 101 WIXX. There will be half price taps through the end of the fifth inning. Fans can also buy a $25 Bud Light Party Patio ticket. This includes all-you-can-eat burgers, brats, hot dgs, baked beans, potato chips and cookies 60 minutes prior to the game through the end of the fifth inning and all-you-can-drink domestic and craft drafts 60 minutes prior to the game through the end of the eighth inning, along with complimentary Pepsi products.
