SCHAUMBURG, Ill. - The 2013 Frontier League Champion Schaumburg Boomers, presented by Wintrust Community Banks, won their fourth in a row by securing a 3-2 win over the Florence Freedom on Saturday night.

The Boomers scored all three runs in the bottom of the fourth. Denver Chavez, activated from injured reserve before the game, drove home Ben Kline with an RBI single. Chavez finished with two hits in the game. A wild pitch allowed Brian McConkey to score and extend the advantage to 2-0. Michael Valadez lifted a sacrifice fly to account for the final run. The run support provided a cushion for starter Danny Jimenez, who posted the longest start of the season. Jimenez worked 6.1 innings and allowed two runs while striking out five. Dexter Price closed out the game for his third save in as many chances.

The Boomers (4-4) conclude the opening weekend series with more fireworks and a magnet schedule giveaway on Sunday night at 6:30 p.m. RHP Seth Webster (0-1, 3.60) starts for the Boomers against LHP Peter Gehle (0-0, 4.50) for Florence. Tickets are available and the game can also be heard live on AM 1410 WRMN with the Voice of the Boomers and 2013 Frontier League Broadcaster of the Year, Tim Calderwood.
