Bombers win third straight; Kolarik extends point streak to eight games

Dayton, OH – The Dayton Bombers posted a 4-1 victory over the Johnstown Chiefs in front of 2,429 at the Nutter Center Friday night for their third consecutive win.

It didn't take long for Dayton to strike first. Just :18 seconds after the opening face-off, SCOTT CAMERON scored his second goal of the season to give the Bombers a 1-0 lead. Dayton opened a 2-0 lead when TYLER KOLARIK extended his team-high point scoring streak to eight games with his team-leading 10th goal of the season, on the powerplay, at 12:43. Shawn Mather put the Chiefs on the board when he beat MIKE AYERS at 16:27 of the opening period. The Bombers led, 2-1, after 20 minutes.

There was no scoring in the second period. With Brent Bilodeau serving a roughing penalty, CLAY PLUME scored his first professional goal giving Dayton a 3-1 lead at 11:34 of the third period. JANNE JOKILA capped a 3-point performance – 1 goal and 2 assists – with an empty net goal at 19:13. For just the second time in 19 games this season, the Bombers outshot their opponent, 34-30.

The Bombers are back in action Friday night when they host the Peoria Rivermen at 7:00 PM. Coverage on SportsOne, WONE-AM 980 begins at 6:55 PM.
