
Bombers Fall 5-4 to Chinooks

MEQUON, WI - An unearned run in the seventh inning was the difference, as the Lakeshore Chinooks defeated the Battle Creek Bombers 5-4 at Kapco Park to even the series.
A.J. Spanel had a terrific debut in his first game as a Bomber, going 3-4 with an RBI. Daniel Rockett also had three hits for Battle Creek. Colin Willis and Kyle Figgins had the other RBIs for the Bombers.
The game was back and forth throughout. Battle Creek took a 4-2 lead in the fifth, but only recorded one hit over the final four innings. Carson Beauchaine pitched four shutout innings in relief of Lakeshore starter Nick Soldano to earn the win. Kenton San Miguel struck out three over two innings for Battle Creek, but was charged with the decisive unearned run and took the loss.
The rubber game of the series is on Friday night at 8:05 ET from Kapco Park. Brian Valente gets the ball for the Bombers.
