Bombers Acquire Goal Scorer

Dayton, OH – The Dayton Bombers of the ECHL announced on Friday that BEN KNOPP has been recalled by the National Hockey League's Columbus Blue Jackets and reassigned to the Pee Dee Pride (ECHL). As part of the deal, the Bombers acquired forward JEFF SZWEZ from the Pride.

Knopp recorded 8 goals, 10 assists and 72 penalty minutes in 36 games with the Bombers this season. He also appeared in 5 games with the American Hockey League's Syracuse Crunch.

SZWEZ has recorded 16 goals, 12 assists and 71 penalty minutes in 41 games with the Pride this season. He comes to Dayton as the Bombers leading goal scorer with 16. The Etobicoke, Ontario native played 3 games with Dayton last season before he was traded to the Pride. The 6'3", 200 pound right wing is in his 3rd professional season.

The Bombers are back in action tonight (Friday) when the travel to Peoria to face the Rivermen. The "Coaches Corner Pre-Game Show" starts at 8:20 PM (EST) from the Peoria Civic Center on 980 Homer, The Sports Animal and at daytonbombers.com.
