
BlueClaws Sweep Pair from Wilmington on Wednesday; Have Won Three Straight

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - The BlueClaws picked up a sweep of their double-header with Wilmington on Wednesday, winning game one 10-9 on a DJ Stewart walk-off single and game two 6-4.
The BlueClaws (25-31) have now won three in a row for the third time this year while Wilmington (23-32) has dropped 16 of their last 19 games.
Game One
DJ Stewart's walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 9th gave the BlueClaws a 10-9 win in the opener on Wednesday night. Tyler Burch (1-0) got the win, keeping the inherited runner from scoring in the top of the ninth inning.
Stewart gave the BlueClaws the lead with a two-run home run in the first inning, his fourth of the season and second in as many days. Logan O'Hoppe's SAC fly in the third inning pushed the BlueClaws lead to 3-1 before Wilmington rallied.
The Blue Rocks got three runs off Jonathan Hughes in the fourth. Yasel Antuna singled home run one while Jack Dunn tied the game with an RBI groundout. With two outs, Justin Connell's RBI single put Wilmington ahead 4-3.
The BlueClaws five run fifth was highlighted by O'Hoppe's three run home run to put the BlueClaws up 6-4. Vito Friscia added an RBI single and Jonathan Guzman added a SAC fly.
Stewart had three hits including a home run for Jersey Shore while O'Hoppe had two hits, four RBIs, and threw out two base-stealers.
Game Two
The BlueClaws jumped out to a quick lead in game two on Jhailyn Ortiz's 10th home run of the season, a two-run shot over Ryan Howard's retired number 29. They added three more in the third. Corbin Williams had an RBI single and Logan O'Hoppe singled home two.
After the BlueClaws pushed their lead to 6-0, Wilmington got back in the game with four runs in the fifth. Yasel Antuna's two-run single cu the lead to 6-4.
Jersey Shore starter Adam Leverett was charged with three runs over 4.2 innings of work. Blake Brown got the last three outs for his fourth save of the year.
