
Blue Rocks Rumble Past Mudcats

WILMINGTON, DE - Kevin David drove in a season-high four runs to help the Wilmington Blue Rocks up-end the Carolina Mudcats 9-2 in front of 3,363 on Monday night at Frawley Stadium. David finished the night 4-for-4 with a pair of doubles.
Leondy Perez (1-0) earned the win by tossing five innings. The right-hander allowed two runs on five hits. He walked one and struck out two.
Danny Salazar (0-2) allowed three runs over four frames, taking the loss.
Wilmington dug out of an early two-run hole with three runs in the third and fourth. A two-out base hit by Alex McClure got the Blue Rocks on the board. With two on, Kevin David delivered his first double of the night with two outs in the fourth, giving Wilmington a 3-2 lead.
The Blue Rocks pulled away with a six spot in the sixth inning. David doubled home two with the bases loaded and one out for a 5-2 lead. A single by Franco and an error allowed two more to cross home. McClure singled in his second and third RBI of the night to finish off the scoring.
Jeremie Tice doubled in two runs in the first inning.
Carolina continues their series with Wilmington Tuesday night at 6:35 p.m. Clayton Cook (1-0, 1.80) will throw against right-hander Tyler Sample (0-1, 5.59).
