Oklahoma City Blue News Release
CEDAR PARK, Texas - The Oklahoma City Blue fell in double overtime to the Austin Spurs, 96-94, on Saturday at Cedar Park Center. Oklahoma City Thunder forward Mitch McGary scored 15 points with 11 rebounds and two blocks in 25 minutes.
Trailing by four with just under two minutes remaining in regulation, the Blue cut its deficit to one possession on a reverse layup by Dez Wells. Marquis Teague tied the game at 84 on a finger roll on the Blue's next trip down the floor before the Oklahoma City defense held off Austin in the final minute to send the game to overtime.
Austin's Demetri McCamey completed a four-point play with 11.3 seconds on the clock in the first extra period to put the Spurs ahead by one. Going up for the offensive board on the next play, McGary was fouled under the basket and sent to the foul line, where he hit one of his two free throws to tie the game and force additional time.
Orlando Johnson sealed the game for Austin with a go-ahead layup with 1.5 seconds remaining in the second overtime period.
Marquis Teague led the Blue in scoring with 23 points while Talib Zanna posted 14 points and eight rebounds. Dakari Johnson totaled 13 points and nine boards and JP Tokoto finished with 11 points.
Oklahoma City (12-23) pulled down 50 rebounds as all 10 of the Blue players who entered the game recorded at least two.
Austin (21-13) was led by Deshaun Thomas with 24 points and 12 rebounds.
The Blue and Spurs play another set of back-to-back games next weekend, beginning with a Saturday afternoon matchup at 1 p.m. in Oklahoma City. For ticket information, visit OklahomaCityBlue.com.
