The Canton Charge, presented by SecureData 365 and powered by the Cleveland Cavaliers, have received their first Gatorade Call-Up of the 2015-16 season as guard Jorge Gutierrez has been signed to a 10-day contract by the Charlotte Hornets.
Gutierrez rejoined the charge on December 9th after beginning the season with the Milwaukee Bucks and has played in 22 games (20 starts), averaging 11.3 points on .431 shooting with 4.2 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 2.2 steals in 27.9 minutes per games. It is Jorge's fourth Call-Up after receiving two from the Bucks and one from the Brooklyn Nets in previous seasons.
Gutierrez, 27, ranked third in the D-League in steals per game and has helped Canton win 14 of their last 16 games, including two seven-game win streaks. He recorded his third career triple-double in a win over Los Angeles on January 9th by scoring 18 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and dishing 10 assists in 36 minutes. He also had six games this season with four or more steals.
The Charge will host the Raptors 905 (Toronto Raptors affiliate) at the Canton Memorial Civic Center tonight at 7:00 p.m. The first 2,000 fans will get a Timofey Mozgov winter hat courtesy of KeyBank, while there's the free Kids Zone and postgame autographs, both presented by Constellation!
