
Blue Can't Hold on in Texas

FRISCO, Texas - The Oklahoma City Blue (5-1) fell to the Texas Legends (3-3), 108-105, dropping the first game of the season on the second night of a back-to-back.
Oklahoma City was down 101-98 until three straight layups by Dez Wells put the Blue up by one with just over a minute remaining. The teams exchanged baskets and with 6.7 seconds to go, the Legends held a 108-105 edge. Wells was unable to connect on a three-point attempt, and Texas finished on top.
Wells finished with a team-leading 23 points, five rebounds and four assists, going 10-for-19 from the field. Two-way player Tyler Davis and Richard Solomon were close behind, each earning double-doubles. Davis tallied 19 points, a game-best 18 rebounds, two assists and three blocks, shooting 6-of-9 from the floor while Solomon registered 20 points, 11 rebounds and three steals.
The Blue got off to a hot start in Frisco, going up 26-9 after seven minutes of action before a 19-4 run by the Legends cut the OKC lead to two at the end of the quarter. The following frame featured six lead changes and five ties as the teams battled, entering halftime with Oklahoma City up 62-54.
The Blue held a 73-66 advantage with five minutes to go in the third before the Legends strung together a 17-2 run to go up by eight. Texas proceeded to control the majority of the fourth quarter.
Scotty Hopson bolstered the Blue bench, going 7-of-14 from the field to finish with 16 points, four rebounds and two assists. Oklahoma City won the battle of the boards, outrebounding Texas 51-43 and outscoring them 62-48 in the paint.
Mavericks two-way player Daryl Macon led the way for the Legends with his game-high 26 points, six assists, four rebounds and two steals.
The Blue will return to action on Sunday, Nov. 18 when the team travels to Austin to take on the Spurs at 4 p.m. inside H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.
