Greensboro Swarm Hold off Lakeland Magic

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) - The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, split its back-to-back with the Lakeland Magic behind a 107-99 victory at the Fieldhouse on Saturday night. With the win, the Swarm improve to 4-1 overall and 2-0 at the Fieldhouse.

Greensboro had three starters score in double figures, led by Joe Chealey's team-high 22 points on 7-of-10 shooting. Chealey also had four assists and three rebounds in 30 minutes of action. Jaylen Barford added 19 points and three rebounds while Chinanu Onuaku recorded his fifth double-double (16 points, 13 rebounds).

Lakeland (1-4) was led by Gabe York's 20 points, four rebounds and three assists in 35 minutes. Troy Caupain had 18 points while Amile Jefferson added 16 points and 16 rebounds.

The Magic held a narrow lead at half, 52-51. However, it was the play of the Swarm's bench that helped Greensboro outscore Lakeland by nine points in the second half. Cat Barber had 20 points, four rebounds and two assists in 28 minutes as a reserve. Tyler Nelson also had 13 points, three rebounds and three assists in his 30 minutes off the bench.

The Swarm shot a season-high 54 percent from the field, compared to Lakeland's 44 percent. Greensboro is 4-0 when shooting over 45 percent in a game.

Greensboro has a busy week heading into the Thanksgiving holiday. On Wednesday, November 21, the Swarm host the Austin Spurs at 7 p.m. followed a Friday and Saturday home back-to-back against the Erie BayHawks (2 p.m.) and Raptors 905 (7 p.m.).
