Hustle Win Streak Snapped by Sioux Falls Despite Fast Start

Southaven, Miss. - The Memphis Hustle suffered a 116-108 loss to the Sioux Falls Skyforce Saturday night at Landers Center, snapping it's three-game winning streak. The Hustle opened the game on an 11-0 run and led 18-5 before Sioux Falls evened things up over the course of the opening frame.

The teams played to a 55-55 tie at halftime, but the third quarter would prove to be the difference as Sioux Falls outscored the Hustle 29-17 and led by as many as 15. Memphis would cut the lead to as little as three points (105-102) with 3:34 remaining in the game, but wouldn't retake the lead.

The Hustle backcourt was stellar again, with Jevon Carter, Markel Crawford and Brandon Goodwin combining for 65 points. Goodwin led the team in scoring (28 points) and rebounds (8) while shooting 11-of-17 from the field (4-8 3P). Carter shot 10-of-16 overall for 22 points to go with six rebounds and five assists. Crawford poured in 15 points off the bench while Kyle Casey also scored in double digits (10 points) in a reserve role.

Two-way player Yante Maten had another big night against the Hustle, posting 28 points and seven rebounds on an efficient 8-of-12 shooting (12-15 FT). Briante Weber also hit the 20-point mark (20 points, 9-11 FG) while Raphiael Putney (14 points, 10 rebounds) notched a double-double. Two-way player Duncan Robinson (14 points), DeAndre Liggins (13 points) and Rodney Purvis (13 points) also reached double figures.
