'Blades score big in league wide ticket sales contest

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL announced that more than 900 new season tickets were sold by ECHL teams and over $500,000 was generated during the first-ever league-sponsored four-week sales contest that concluded Oct. 5.

Mark Runco of Florida sold the most tickets while Nathan Gosline of the Everblades sold the second most tickets. Both won a prize as determined by the league for their outstanding efforts in the sales department.

Florida was the overall team winner with almost 260 new season tickets sold while the Mississippi Sea Wolves were the top performer based on market size.

The Premier 'AA' Hockey League drops the puck for its 20th season on Thursday with a special "Opening Day" game between the Johnstown Chiefs and the Wheeling Nailers at Cambria County War Memorial Arena.
