February 10, 2022 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Calgary Hitmen News Release
Saskatoon, SK - Chestermere, AB product Kyle Crnkovic notched his second hat-trick of the season to lead the Saskatoon Blades past the Calgary Hitmen 4-2 on Wednesday night at SaskTel Centre.
Calgary built leads of 1-0 and 2-1 on markers from Zac Funk, with his 15th and Cael Zimmerman with his 10th, before the Blades answered back. Crnkovic's second tally of the night snapped a 2-2 tie with just 2:39 remaining in regulation. He would complete his three goal effort by finding the empty net.
The loss was a rarity for the Calgary at SaskTel Centre as the visitors had won their previous six visits dating back to 2018.
Saskatoon outshot the Hitmen 33-32 as the Blades improve to 24-16-1-1 while Calgary drops to 18-17-5-2.
The Hitmen will now take a one day break before the road trip resumes on Friday, Feb. 11 in Regina against the Pats and concludes in Moose Jaw (Feb. 12).
Calgary will then open a four-game homestand on Wednesday, Feb. 16 in a rematch with the Warriors. Game time at Seven Chiefs Sportsplex on Tsuut'ina Nation is 7:00 p.m.
