Blades Defeat Rebels 4-2

SASKATOON, SK - The Rebels 3-game winning streak came to an end with a 4-2 loss Saturday to the Saskatoon Blades.

In the first period, the Blades opened the scoring with a goal from Ryan Graham. The Rebels responded 1:09 later when Colton Bobyk tied the game at 1, that was the score after the opening 20 minutes.

The Blades took a 2-1 lead on a goal by Cameron Hebig. Just 32 seconds later, the Rebels tied the game when Evan Polei scored. The Blades put on in late in the second period, Mason McCarty gave his team a 3-2 lead after two periods.

The Blades added one more in the third period, Terell Draude increased the Blades lead to 4-2, and that's how the game finished.

The Rebels outshot the Blades 35-28, Trevor Martin made 24 saves in the Rebels net; Brock Hamm made 33 saves in the Blades goal.

Red Deer was 0 for 3 on the power play and the Blades were 0 for 2 on the man advantage.

The Rebels will continue the road trip Wednesday in Brandon. That game is a 3:00PM start Mountain Time, the broadcast on 106.7 The Drive begins at 2:50PM.
