Kent, WA - The Saskatoon Blades were edged 3-2 by the Seattle Thunderbirds on Saturday Night. The loss is Saskatoon's third in as many games, and comes in the midst of a three game weekend schedule.

The Blades fell behind 25 seconds into the game as the T-Birds opened the scoring through Keltie Jeri-Leon. The home team doubled their lead late in the period through a Simon Kubicek power play goal.

Nolan Kneen got the visitors on the scoreboard to start the second period. Funnelling the puck around the boards from behind the net, Braden Plaschewsky & Scott Walford worked the puck across to Kneen on the right point. Kneen, with a step on his man, brought the puck low on the right wing and beat Seattle's netminder, halving their lead. Plaschewsky's assist on the goal was his first WHL career point.

However, the T-Birds reaffirmed their lead before the halfway point of the match with a power play goal scored by Payton Mount that would eventually stand as the game winner.

Saskatoon would get back within striking distance at the beginning of the third period via Matej Toman's first goal as a Blade. On the power play, Toman was set up nicely from Aidan De La Gorgendiere & Eric Florchuk before slapping the puck in from the right wing.

Though it was the case of too little too late as the Blades couldn't find another goal despite taking 16 shots in the third period.

Saskatoon are 0-3-0-0 on their U.S. division swing and play their third game of the weekend tomorrow evening in Portland against the Winterhawks. Puck drop is at 7:05pm CST.

The Blades next home game is on December 7th for Girls Rock! Night against the Kelowna Rockets, featuring a pre-game empowerment talk from NASCAR Pinty's Series Driver Shantel Kalika & the Saskatoon Valkyries of the WWCFL.
